Left of Center is pleased to present Ephemeral Recomposition, artwork by Jeannie Hua. As seen through the eyes of an immigrant, starting from the age of eight, Jeannie Hua had worked to assimilate and strive for the American dream. Art had been her constant companion, an outlet to work through public and personal tragedies. Picking up the pieces after experiencing a breakdown, and piecing back together a life during recovery, Jeannie’s use of scraps of ephemera to make her images serve as an analogy, a parallel to the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle we are all a part of, each piece integral to the big picture.
Jeannie Hua graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has shown her work extensively in New York and throughout the United States as well as internationally.
