permanent COLLECTION

Left of Center Artists have long been involved in the creation of much of the public art around the Las Vegas area.  From murals to ZAP boxes, our artists are involved in spreading the arts throughout the communities we all live in. Take a look at some of the art around town which stems from the creativity at LOC!

AFRICAN ART COLLECTION

The Museum Collection of African Art, our permanent collection, began many years ago as a private collection by LOC founder Vicki Richardson, and her late husband, Louis Richardson.  When Left of Center Art Gallery was established, the collection went on display to the public.  As the years passed, the gallery received donations which added to the collection. In 2014, Mr. Joseph Walker, a former importer of African Art, donated a sizeable part of his personal collection to LOC.  The son of the late, prominent artist, Calvin B. Jones, Byron Jones and his wife, Brigitte Jones, also donated part of his father’s personal African Art collection to the gallery.  Others who made the Museum Collection possible include:  Nancy Alain, Aurora Alvarez, Vance Cannon, Cheran Crews, Bill & Rosemary Glass, Lois Mack, Barbara Mecham, Frank McBride, Sr., Helen Murphy, Diana Record, Jack & Marilyn Thompson, and Helen Toland.
