I'm seeing the details of life – slowing down and taking time to treasure the intricacies of my surroundings. There's a comforting personal bond with art done or seen on an intimate scale. Even if the presentation is on a grand scale, the inticing individual involvement draws viewers into the intimate space of objects and shapes communicating to us all on a level that is commonly human, helping us to know ourselves.

In my experience, composing images (whether photographs, paintings, or drawings) is both relaxing and healing. I'm capturing and interpreting the beauty that is in or of nature. As it heals me I hope to give others that same sense of calmness in the midst of a hurried world.
